JNU held a National University Development Project Performance Forum at the Maison Glad Jeju Hotel on the 10th of February.

This forum was hosted by the JNU Development Project Group (Director Kim Jae-hoon). There were about 100 local residents and officials from the Jeju Regional Project Evaluation Group, Jeju Techno Park, and local universities in the event. By summarizing the results of the 1st cycle project that started in 2018, there were a lot of events such as presentation of the areal best practices, student ideas, and resident participation results.

In particular, the ceremony was held to deliver the 'Functional Haenyeo-Haenambok’, which promoted as a participatory project for residents to resolve local issues and to deliver the plaques of appreciation from social groups participating in the project to expand social participation opportunities for children with developmental disabilities. Through this, it was possible to confirm the regional contribution effect of the national university development project promoted by JNU.

JNU’s President Kim Eel-hwan said, "Based on the achievements of the 1st cycle national university development project, JNU will establish itself as a base national university that can lead the development of the region with the 2nd cycle project starting this year."
