JNU had achieved the nation's first rank in pass rate for the 2023 elementary teacher certification examination. This achievement is the result of a self-survey conducted by universities nationwide that produced elementary school teachers. JNU recorded a pass rate of 63.8% with 94 applicants and 60 passing.

Students from Jeju had the largest number of successful applicants by region with 44, followed by 8 from Gyeonggi-do, 2 from Gyeongsangbuk-do, and 1 each from Incheon, Ulsan, Busan, Gangwon, Chungbuk, and Gyeongnam.

Ko Jeon, Vice President of JNU, said, “"This achievement is valuable under difficult circumstances where the number of elementary school teachers is decreasing due to the recent decline in the school-age population. JNU plans to continue providing customized support at the university level so that students can achieve their dream of becoming an elementary school teacher.”
