JNU announced that Ko Dong-woo, professor of Architectural Engineering, College of Engineering JNU, won an academic award at the General Meeting & Academic Presentation of ‘2023 Earthquake Engineering Society of Korea’, which was held at the Korea Science and Technology Center.

The Earthquake Engineering Society of Korea (President Kim Ik-hyun) selects researchers who have contributed to the development of technology in the field of earthquake engineering and presents academic awards every year.

Prof. Ko was recognized for his contribution to increasing social interest in earthquake engineering and the academic value of research on the seismic design of reinforced concrete piloti-type buildings. He is currently serving as the director of the Engineering Education Innovation Center at JNU, contributing to the cultivation of creative and convergent engineering talents.
