JNU was recently officially designated as an "Agricultural Products Inspection Agency (No. 77)" by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service for the first time in Jeju.

‘Agricultural Products Inspection Agency’ refers to an institution that inspects agricultural products in accordance with Article 99 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products Quality Control Act. The only institutions that have passed strict document evaluation, thorough on-site inspection, and precise test of inspection samples can be designated as ‘Agricultural Products Inspection Agency’ by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service.

JNU was designated as No. 77 in the field of inorganic ingredients and hazardous substances on the 13th of April. JNU has been recognized as a national accredited certification agency capable of analyzing and inspecting harmful substances (residual pesticides, antibiotics, etc.) remaining in agricultural products.

JNU has already been conducting harmful substance analysis since it was designated as a "Safety Inspection Institution (No. 63) by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Agency in 2021. In addition, JNU has participated in the Food Analysis Performance Assessment Scheme (FAPAS) organized by the British Food and Environment Research Agency every year, recognized worldwide for its excellence in analysis technology.

The designation is expected to improve consumer reliability through systematic safety management of agricultural products in the province and secure a system that enable producers to distribute quickly by reducing the time required for inspection such as pesticide residue analysis.

JNU officials said, “JNU will do its best to help various fields by providing accurate and prompt data since safe agricultural products are an important factor in the front and rear industries such as cosmetics and food.”
