HealthSet Co., Ltd., a center tenant company at JNU Life Science & Technology Innovation Center (Director Park Sung-soo), was finally selected in the ‘2023 Startup Leap Package Project’ supported by Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development.

Healthset Co., Ltd. was founded by young people in 2018 with the achievements the center gained from carrying out local-based industries. From July 2021 to December 2022, it participated as a beneficiary of the 'Open Lab for Development of Functional Food Beverages Linked to Local Industries' at JNU Life Science & Technology Center. In this process, the company incorporated itself as a JNU Technology Holding Subsidiary through university technology transfer to develop materials and products utilizing biological resources.

HealthSet (CEO Kim Hyung-seok) plans to improve MVP health functional food products using unused resources developed jointly with the center through the "Start-up Leap Package Project" selected this time owing to industry-academic cooperation with JNU.

JNU Life Science & Technology Innovation Center is the first institution in the province that allows testing of food, etc. (No. 139), testing of drinking water quality (No. 5), and testing of livestock products (No. 76). As a comprehensive analysis institution for regional-based food and beverages, the center was selected for this year's 2023 City, County, and District Research Industry Promotion Project. Based on this, the center will promote analysis certification support and technical support capabilities to link high value-added products with the aim of diversifying lava seawater-based products and increasing high value-added products.

Park Sung-soo, head of the center, said, "JNU was encouraged by the surprise growth (sales achieved KRW 1.5 billion) shown by HealthSet Co., Ltd. The center will actively utilize the industry-academic cooperation know-how accumulated so far in order to create more industry-academic cooperation success models. “
