JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) invited 22 leading companies in Jeju at Jeju National University on the 8th of June and held an industry-academic joint development workshop.

To serve as a regional strategic industry support base, JNU held the workshop with the leading companies in Jeju in order to discover large-scale national projects based on industrial demand and to prepare joint attraction strategies. They also discussed to establish "Jeju Regional Industry-Academic Association Council" and corporate participation and cooperation plans for Regional Innovation System Project (RIS).

JNU President Kim Eel-hwan said, “This workshop is a venue for discussions on strengthening technological competitiveness through R&BD project planning as well as cultivating excellent research personnel in Jeju.”, adding, “JNU will continue to play a role in creating a win-win and sustainable growth engine with local companies.”

He also emphasized. "The RIS launched a full-fledged project by expanding institutions participating in local innovation platforms and establishing a cooperative system. Through this, let's work together to foster local talents and create a virtuous cycle of regional innovation."
