 On the 1st of June, JNU announced that 3 JNU alumni who were graudated in 2022 have passed ‘2023 Selection Test of Grade 7 trainee for local talent in the government official’. They are Ko Ji-hye (English Literature) in administrative official, Kang Da-hyun (Radio Information and Communication Engineering), and Baek Seung-yeon (Mechanical Engineering) in technical official.

 The selection test was introduced in 2005 in order to strengthen the regional representation of public offices by evenly recruiting talented people in the region, and diversify the recruitment channels of public offices.

It targets JNU graduates and prospective graduates who meet the top 10%. The final successful candidates will be selected through the tests (Constitution, PSAT) and interviews organized by the JNU Recommendation Course and the Ministry of Personnel Management.

 Successful applicants complete basic education to adapt to public office and improve their job skills. After one year of probationary work at a central administrative agency, they are appointed as 7 grade national public officials in general positions after the examination of appointment status.

 Through the operation of the support team for 7th-grade for local talents in the government official, JNU Career Employment Division provides JNU students with various programs such as PSAT special lectures and lecture tuition support, mock tests, and mentoring seniors who passed the exam. It also provides learning facilities in Injaeyangseong-gwan (Talent Fostering Hall) for the students.
