JNU(President Kim Eel-Hwan) announced the establishment of a regional talent admission system in the comprehensive evaluation of student records in order to attract outstanding local talents. JNU has been making efforts to expand the regional talent admission system in response to the government's policy to increase opportunities for local talents, which JNU will continue to implement in the future.

The recruitment ratio: 15.5% in 2023, 16.9% in 2024, and 18.5% in 2025.

In addition, JNU has unveiled JNU’s admission implementation plan announced on the 28th of April, 2023. It raises the recruitment ratio for the regional talent admission system by 1.6% compared to the previous year. Furthermore, from the 2026 academic year, JNU plans to introduce the regional talent admission system in the comprehensive evaluation of student records, initially focusing on the School of Pharmacy and the College of Veterinary Medicine, with plans to gradually extend it to other departments.

President Kim Eel-Hwan said, "JNU has been making efforts to select excellent high school students. JUN continues to improve the admission system to ensure that students can enter JNU, who have demonstrated self-directed learning abilities with a strong commitment to their high school life. Moreover, JNU will actively support these students in pursuing their desired careers and contributing to regional development, leading them to reside in Jeju."
