On the 9th of June, JNU LINC 3.0 Project Team (Director Kang Tae-young) held the 2023 Capstone Design Result Presentation for the spring semester at the JNU Industry-Academia Cooperation Center.
Capstone Design is a team project to solve industrial and social issues in collaboration with industry based on JNU students’ major competencies. JNU LINC 3.0 Project Team holds a Capstone Design Result Presentation every semester in order to discover outstanding works by students and share their achievements.
The theme of this year was "Design Tomorrow and Shape the Future". A total of 300 people, including JNU students, faculty members, and corporate officials, participated in the result presentation. Out of the 126 teams participating in the 1st semester Capstone Design, 60 teams were selected after the first internal evaluation. Among them, the Cycle Team (Supervisor Prof. Kim Ho-chan, Department of Electrical Energy Engineering) won the Grand Prize. They developed a label and QR code that can be removed all at once when the lid is opened. Additionally, a total of 20 teams were awarded, including 3 teams with the Best Excellence Award, 4 teams with the Outstanding Award, 4 teams with the Special Award, and 8 teams with the Encouragement Award.
At the event, a Capstone Auction was held where corporate representatives directly invested in the outstanding works of students. As a result, letters of Intent were submitted for a total of 15 cases (KRW 24 million for 5 companies/13 teams). For 15 cases, a technology transfer contract will be concluded with the company after further consultation.
Director Kang Tae-young said, "The quality of the Capstone Design Project works is improving every semester, and JNU students have recently achieved excellent results in the National Capstone Design Competitions." He further added, “JNU will actively support the project aimed at nurturing creative talents who will lead the future society."
