JNU, Civic Education Capacity Enhancement Project in Teachers’ Training College

JNU was finally selected for ‘2023 Teacher Training college Citizen Education Capacity Enhancement Project (Curriculum- type). The project is supported by the Ministry of Education of Korea and the Korea Research Foundation.
The project is to raise the citizenship of prospective teachers required in the era of digital transformation and strengthen their capabilities as civic education experts through financial support for teachers’ training colleges.
JNU receives about KRW 119 million per year from the Ministry of Education to develop civic education-related curricula for a total of four years (2 years + 2 years). In addition, various extracurricular programs such as school field-linked and experiential participation will be developed and operated.
Prof. Byeon Jong-heon (Ethics Education Department in JNU of Education) said, "JNU will systematically develop and operate various programs related to civic education at JNU of Educaion and JNU College of Educaion to foster civic awareness and strengthen the ability of preservice teachers in Jeju."
