JNU Prof. Kang Ju-hyun, Best Paper Award in the International and General Research section at the 94th Jeju International Academic Conference by KTA

JNU announced that Professor Kang Ju-hyun(Department of Tourism Management) received multiple awards at the International Academic Conference organized by the Korea Tourism Association (KTA) recently.
KTA, was founded in 1972 as the first academic society in the field of tourism in South Korea. It is an international academic organization with around 8,000 members actively participating. KTA publishes the highly regarded KCI-listed journal "Tourism Studies" and the English academic journal "International Journal of Tourism Sciences." In the recent KTA International Academic Conference, over 200 academic research papers presented by researchers from 13 countries both domestic and international.
At this academic conference, Prof. Kang received the Best Paper Award (1st Place) in the International Paper Session for her paper titled 'How does the Metaverse Travel Influence Virtual and Actual Travel Behavior? Focusing on the Role of Telepresence and Avatar Identification.‘
In addition, she won the Best Paper Award (Best Paper Award, 1st Place) with Professor Lee Hye-rin and Hong Sung-hwa for their thesis on "Analyzing the Senior Leisure Gap_Comparison with the Young Generation" in the general research paper category.
Prof. Kang is currently involved in various activities, including ESG management advisor for the Jeju Tourism Organization, an advisory professor at the Jeju headquarters of the Bank of Korea, an excellent tourism business evaluation committee member of the Jeju Provincial Government, and a welfare tourism advisory committee. Additionally, she conducts research and education on diverse topics such as digital transformation, big data analysis, ESG, and cultural tourism content.
