JNU Prof. Chun Ji-yeon (Food Bioengineering) and Jeon You-jin (Major of Aquatic Life Medicine) have been selected as the recipient of ‘The 33rd Science & Technology Excellence Paper Award’ by Korean Federation of Science & Technology Societies (KOSFT).

Since 1991, the award has been presented by KOSFT, which encompasses 395 domestic academic societies, while it is regarded as one of the most prestigious academic awards in Korea’s scientific and technological community.

Prof. Chun was recognized for the superiority of her research proposing the optimal process of manufacturing edible powder of white spotted flower radish larvae raised in Jeju while conducting quality evaluations based on preprocessing combinations, drying methods, and the presence or absence of skimming.

Prof. Jeon investigated the structural characteristics and anti-inflammatory effects of Ecklonia maxima stem. On his outstanding paper, he proposed strategies for the valorization of fucoidan, which had relatively low utilization.

The awards ceremony was held at the Korea Science & Technology Center in Gangnam-gu on July 6th of July.
