JNU Professor Heo Moon-soo (Major of Aquatic Life Medicine) was hornored with the MBL (Microbiology and Biotechnology Letters) Paper Award at the KMB 50th Anniversary 2023 Annual Meeting & International Symposium, organized by The Korean Society for Microbiology & Biotechnology (KMB), The event took place from the 21st to 23rd of June at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center in Gyeongju.
Prof. Heo received this award in recognition of the excellence of his thesis on ‘The Characteristics & Antimicrobial Activity of Novel Bacteria Isolated from Poriferan and Probiotic Bacteria from Traditional Korean Fermented Foods as well as Desease Resistance in Farmed Halibut’ among numerous papers he has published in the last three years.
KMB consists of experts in microbiology, biotechnology, and related convergence fields such as domestic academia, research institutes, and industries. It has approximately 9,300 new researchers and related personnel as members. As one of the largest conferences in the field of biotechnology in Korea, it not only leads the highest level of academic, industrial, and cultural exchanges, but also has established itself as a prestigious conference worldwide. A total of 2,200 participants attended the conference, and a total of 900 papers were presented.
