On the 26th of June, JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) invited Chairperson Woo Dong-ki of the National Balanced Development Committee to give a special lecture on the topic of “Vision & Strategy for Local Era and Korea Leaping Forword!”

Around 200 people, including JNU President Kim Eel-hwan, officials from Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, JNU faculty, and students attended the lecture.

The lecture consisted of an explanation of the government's balanced development policy direction for the local era, sharing key current issues such as educational innovation and revitalizing local universities, and seeking future tasks and challenges.

During the lecture, Mr. Woo emphasized that the development of regional universities is crucial for the development of the local region. He also stressed the importance of local governments recognizing educational issues as regional development issues and playing an active role.

JNU President Kim Eel-Hwan stated that it is essential for regional revival to prioritize innovative regional education that prepares for the future.“ adding, ”JNU will continue to cooperate with local governments and local innovation agencies to drive the development of Jeju communities and ensure that everyone can coexist."
