Kim Nam-sik, standing vice chairperson of the JNU alumni association, donated KRW 10 million to JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) as JNU development fund on Aug. 30.
Mr. Kim has donated KRW 210 million to JNU from Cheongbong Environment Co., Ltd., the company he is representing so far. He contributed a lot to the spread of donation culture while serving as the chairperson of the Jeju Social Welfare Community Chest of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for three years from 2018 to 2021.
He participated in this donation as part of the "JNU Development Love Pen Relay Donation," a fundraising campaign to commemorate the JNU 70th anniversary. The fund will be used as a development fund for training human resources or renewing the JNU main building.
The "JNU Development Love Pen Relay Donation" campaign began in May 2022, with the JNU 70th anniversary, in order to expand the development fund for JNU development through the voluntary participation of Jeju residents, JNU families and alumni.
Vice Chairperson Kim hoped that the donation would lead to the voluntary participation of more JNU alumni.
