JNU has implemented a "visiting fingerprint registration service" to assist its international student population. On September 9, the Jeju Immigration and Foreigners Office made an on-site visit to the university to facilitate fingerprint registration for international students. This service, continuously implemented since 2020, has received overwhelmingly positive responses from international students.
The recent service catered to 118 new international students at JNU, including those in language training programs. This initiative is expected to greatly assist international students navigating an unfamiliar environment by providing convenient fingerprint collection for foreign registration and guidance on necessary administrative procedures, thus addressing potential civil complaints.
Kim Eun-hee, Director of JNU's Office of International Affairs, said, "We deeply appreciate the Jeju Immigration and Foreigners Office for supporting JNU international students in easily managing administrative processes, such as fingerprint registration, right here on campus this year," adding, "JNU is committed to helping international students focus on their studies without undue administrative burdens."
