JNU held a ceremony to commemorate the 72 anniversary of its founding at JNU Aramuse Hall on May 23.

In a commemorative speech, JNU President Kim Eel-hwan said, “Korea is facing a major crisis due to declining birth rates and a rapidly decreasing school-age population,” adding, “In times like these, JNU must overcome the crisis by developing a model of mutual growth with Jeju.”

President Kim emphasized that JNU is committed to becoming a globally competitive institution by fostering internal innovation, all while maintaining harmonious coexistence with Jeju community.

At the event, JNU presented plaques of merit to long-serving faculty members and awarded for outstanding and exemplary faculty members.
