Korean Language Center offers vernacular education for youngsters

Jeju National University Korean Language and Culture Center (Bae Young Hwan, Director) is Conducting Jeju vernacular education for Jeju’s young people with the support from Jeju Autonomous Government.

Following the same program offered last year, the second education aimed at informing che importance of Jeju’s indigenous language for youngsters living in Jeju. The education Program “Creative Writing in Jeju Vernacular,” and three other subjects. Classes were held at Shinsung Girls Junior High School at the beginning of the month, followed by ones at Nohyung Junior High School, Jeju Girls High School and four other secondary schools in Jeju.

Director Bae hopes the program helps preserve the unique indigenous language through the youth education program.
