Engineering Center holds seminar for bigdata specialist training

Jeju National University Engineering Education Center (An Ki Joong, Director) held a seminar to discuss the post COVID-19 pandemic program to train Jeju-type bigdata specialists earlier last week.

The seminar was based on the bigdata analysis data of KT and BC cards resulting from the post COVID-19 pandemic measures taken by Korea Data Industry Institute.

The analytic data due to the pandemic included

△ predicted changes in regional dynamic and living populations (2020 vs. 2019),

△ prediction of foreign tourists and their moving patterns, and

△ development of consumption-based algorithm for each administrative block (“dong”).

Prioir to the seminar, the leaders of JNU Engineering Education Center and Data Science Lab (Yoo Hee Kyung, CEO) signed the agreement for collaborations.

Mr. Kim Jong Hee of KT Jeju Branch, Director Kim Won Bae of Data Science Lab, and Dr. Chun Soo Jin of the DSL Research Institute performed education to explore the Jeju-type bigdata business model. At the seminar Mr. Kim also proposed a plan to develop an industry academy cooperative model to the JNU counterpart.

In addition to Mr. Kim, Dr. Chung Soo Jin and JNU’s Director An added their contributions to the discussion taken place at the seminar.
