‘제14회 외국인 한국어 말하기 대회’ 대상에 허지아
Ms. Heo wins Grand Prize at 14th Korean Speaking Contest

Jeju National University Korean Language and Culture Institute (Bae Young Hwan, Director) announced earlier today (October 23, 2020) that Ms. Heo JA from Singapore won Grand Prize at the 14th All Province Foreigners Korean Speaking Contest held in commemoration of the 574th Proclamation of Hangeul. She works at Jeju Halla University Language Education Center.

Her prize winning title was “Korean Chuseok vs. Singaporean Joongchujeol,” which describes the cultural differences between the two traditional festivals.

Mr. Ryu SH from USA won a gold prize in general public division, whereas Lei DD from Vietnam earned a gold prize in college division. The contest produced a total of 9 winners.

Twenty seven contestestants living in Jeju Island came from Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Nepal, USA, Kyrgyzstan, Singapore, Russia, Cambodia, and Japan.
