Kim Woo Joong featured on international journal cover

Kim Woo Joong, M.S. in mechatronics engineering, JNU Graduate School (Professor Kim Sang Jae, Supervisory Faculty), has his recent paper in “ACS Applied Electronic Materials,” an American Chemical Society periodical, featured on the journal’s cover.

Title of the publication is “Development of capsular oil leak-detecting frictional electricity-electronic hybrid generator based on sustainable ocean energy harnessing and self-actuating mechanism.”

The research revolved around developing an oil-leaks in the ocean by means of wave-energy and self-actuating probe. The device is expected to play an important role in oceanic environmental conservation, especially for Jeju Island seashore.

It is highly regarded that a master’s degree work got the highlight spot on the ACS journal cover.

The research was conducted under the sponsorship of the National Research Foundation of Korea: Basic Research Project.
