Ko Ga-yeon, JNU Ph.D. student, '2024 Professional Student Research Grant'

Ko Ga-yeon, in JNU Ph.D. program, (supervisor Prof. Lee Yun-kyoung) in the Department of Food and Nutrition was selected for the new project of the "Project to Support Research Incentives for Ph.D. Students" in the science and engineering field in 2024.
She will conduct research with a total of KRW 50 million in research funds supported by the Ministry of Education (Korea Research Foundation) over the next two years. Her research theme is "Screening and Evaluation of the Effects of Seaweed-derived Polysaccharides Enriching Intestinal Microorganisms Reduced Due to Obesity."
Ko achieved one SCOPUS thesis and one domestic patent application during the master's degree course. She is currently preparing to submit an international specialized paper on the results of an international joint study with Shandong Agricultural University in China.
The "2024 Science and Engineering Subsequent Generation Support Project" is a research support project of the Korea Research Foundation launched in 2019. It aims to help students take the lead in researching creative and challenging ideas related to the research of doctoral dissertations of domestic graduate students.
