‘2020 대학을 빛낸 교수상’에 문일주 교수
Prof. Moon IJ wins JNU spot-lighter award

Professor Moon Il-Joo of the Jeju National University (Song Seok-Eon, President) Department of Maritime Industrial Police Science was named the 2020 JNU spot-lighter award; he earned the same distinction in 2007 and 2015.

He published a paper entitled “The Relationship Between Climate Change and Typhoon” in the prestigious journal Nature (2020).

For his research, he received a meteorological science achievement award from Prime Minister Yoo.

Professor Moon also spotlighted the university through a number of interviews and media coverage as a typhoon expert.

He currently directs the JNU Typhoon Research Center providing timely forecast and climate change information.
