Groundbreaking for new Industry Academy Hall

지역 산업계 발전 위한 랜드마크 조성 Signifying landmark for regional industrial development

Jeju National University (Song Seok-Eon, President) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new industry academy cooperation hall last Thursday (December 24, 2020).

The groundbreaking event is significant in that Jeju National University has been looking forward to having a new industry academy cooperation building in preparation for the forthcoming 4th industrial revolution.

The construction project was President Song’s presidential campaign promise. The building will consist of basement floor, 4-story structure, providing the total space of 7123㎡ at a cost of 18.3 billion krw. It is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022.

International joint research laboratory, overseas distinguished scientist laboratory, and international exchange support room will be housed.

In addition, the new hall includes start-up one-stop support center and pilot plant, start-up lecture room, venture club room, and start-up information exchange room.

To facilitate the regional strategic industrial development, the new hall will have annexes to international academy technology development center and regional society research center, providing a role as a role for regional R&D activities.

President Song expects the new building to become an industry academy cooperation landmark in Jeju area.
