Law School wins court defense contest

Debaters of the Jeju National University School of Law (Oh Seong Keun, Dean) won an excellence award at the 12th Gain Court Defense Contest held online last week (January 5~6, 2021).

The contest consisted of 3-member teams comprised of the law school students (junior classment) grouped into civic and criminal law divisions.

Forty six and 81 teams in criminal and civil law divisions participated in the contest. Of the 127 teams nationwide, 16 and 16 teams, respectively, competed in the final. The JNU team of Lee Chan Yong, Park Joon Kun, and Sung Yoo Joon advanced to the final winning the excellence award.

Dean Oh was greatly encouraged by the performance of his students.

The prestigious court debate contest is named after the first supreme court justice, Kim Byung Ro (1948).
