Dhanasekar wins education minister’s award

Kesavan Dhanasekar, predoctoral fellow, Jeju National University Department of Mechatronics Engineering (Professor Kim Sang Jae, Supervisory Professor), won a Minister of Education award in recognition of his academic achievement as a top performance student among the 2020 government-sponsored foreign students.
Korea International Education Institute carries out annual evaluations of the government-sponsored foreign students enrolled at 80 colleges and universities in Korea; the institute identified 3 top-ranked students in 2020.
Dhanasekar won the top performance awards among the three candidates based on his academic records and research publications.
He enrolled in the mechatronics engineering department at Jeju National University in 2018 and recently published research papers in the “Journal of Material Chemistry A” (Impact factor 11.3) and “Journal of Colloid and Interface Science” (impact factor 7.4). His research revolved around the development of high-capacity energy storage batteries using nano-structured electrodes.
