Prof. Oh HS reappointed as President of National Federation of Public Universities

Professor Oh Hong Shik, President, Jeju National University Faculty Senate and Professor, Faculty of Science Education Biology Education Majors, has been re-elected as President of the National Federation of Public Universities whose membership is comprised of 18,000 professorial faculty of 41 universities. His presidential term ends February 2022.

He campaigned for the presidency based on improving educational environment and faculty rights. He stated that he would promote the federation’s aims with government agencies, including improved faculty benefits, issues related to instructorship program, and proposing national education committee.

Professor Oh earned his doctorate in zoology from Kyushu University in Japan and joined the JNU Faculty in 2001 where he has served in several executive positions including dean of the college of education and graduate school.
