Jeju National University (JNU) concludes business agreement for with Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), National Pension Service (NPS), and Government Employees Pension human resource nurturing

Jeju National University (Song Seok-eon, President) and Jeonbuk National University (Kim Dong-won, President) on Feb. 26 concluded a business agreement with the National Pension Service (Kim Yong-jin, Chairperson and CEO) and the Government Employees Pension Service (Chung Nam-joon, Chairman & CEO) for “nurturing the human resource public pension service.” The agreement was concluded in adherence to social distancing guidelines in place to stymie the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The organizations agreed to further develop the public pension system, arrange a consultative body for manpower training, and to promote a cooperation program on nurturing human resources specializing in the public pension. The cooperation program includes operating an open campus, establishing an interdisciplinary program, and providing job experience and internship exchange.
The participants also decided to broaden cooperation in the sharing of big data to nurture the digital finance industry.
NPS and GEPS are based in Jeollabuk Province and the Jeju Innovation City, respectively.
Under the agreement, JNU and JBNU are to carry forward a human-resource nurturing project for the public pension through the Leading Regional University Promotion Project and the National University Development Program.
JNU expects the agreement will help students gain employment by including the NPS Jeollabuk Province location into its so-called open campus.
President Song said, “JNU will make efforts to nurture talent regarding the public pension as required by the organizations. To do so, we will need the knowledge of the pension services.”
