Prof. Kim Bae-Seong Appointed as President of the Korean Association of Agricultural and Food Policy

Prof. Kim Bae-seong (Department of Applied Economics, College of Applied Life Sciences, Jeju National University) on Feb. 23 was elected the 41st President of the Korean Association of Agricultural and Food Policy through a virtual general assembly for a one-year term that began on March 1.

Prof. Kim has successively filled various positions such as a research committee member of the Korea Rural Economic Institute, a national expert for the United Nations Environment Programme Biodiversity Convention, an editor-in-chief of the Korean Association of Agricultural and Food Policy board of editors, and a chief editor for the social science department in Korea Academia-Industrial Cooperation Society.

Prof. Kim has also served as a member of the Council for the Life Zone Development of Jeju Special Self-governing Province, a member of the Strategic Forum in response to the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Market Opening, a member of the advisory committee and personnel committee for the Jeju Research Institute, and as vice dean of the College of Applied Life Sciences at Jeju National University, indicating that he has been a vigorous researcher who focuses on industries and regional development.

The Korean Association of Agricultural and Food Policy is distinguished for its research and academic work on economics theory and policy development for agricultural products agriculture, rural area, and food.
