JNU Faculty of Liberal Education, Jeju Youth Center agree to nurture young talent

Jeju National University Faculty of Liberal Education (Dean Yang Chang-yong) and Jeju Youth Center (Director Park Kyeong-deok) concluded a business agreement on Feb. 26 to build infrastructure for nurturing youth talent in Jeju.

On signing the deal at the Jeju Youth Center, both parties agreed to build a cooperative system to nurture young local talent and to vitalize regional education. The system will also reflect the various youth needs.

For this end, the two institutions agreed to cooperate on a teaching and learning education program for the JNU Faculty of Liberal Education and a youth education support program for the Jeju Youth Center. By sharing infrastructure and support while exchanging expertise and holding relevant seminars, the cooperation between the two organizations based on the agreement is expected to yield beneficial outcomes for the region’s higher education system and be a public good.

Yang Chang-yong, the head of JNU Faculty of Liberal Education, said: “With the agreement as a starting point, we will spearhead the nurturing of talented people in Jeju through an education program that helps create career paths so youth can realize their dreams as they grow to feel a tie to one another. Additionally, we will build an educational model for youth in regional communities and promote active exchanges between organizations so that we will be able to secure relevant human resources for the plan.”
