Jeju National University announces best academic advisors

Jeju National University announced Saturday (March 13) that five of its professors were selected as best-performing dissertation advisors for the 2019 fall and the 2020 spring semesters.

The university annually recognizes those professors who eagerly instruct their post-graduate students in making such academic progress as publishing articles in journals and making patent applications.

This year, the related prize has been granted to the dissertation advisors of the post-graduate students who won the Best Researcher Award for the 2019 Fall and the 2020 Spring Semesters.

The winning academic advisors for the 2019 fall semester include Lim Sang-bin (Department of Food Science and Engineering), Choi Sooseok (Major of Energy and Chemical Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Energy System), Kim Do-hyeun (Department of Computer Engineering), and Lee Jehee (Department of Marine Life Sciences) for the 2019 fall semester. Lee Jehee (Department of Marine Life Sciences), Seo Hye-won (Major of Physics in the Faculty of Applied Energy System) and Kim Sang-jae (Department of Mechatronics Engineering) won the prize for the 2020 spring semester.

According to Ji Young-heun, the dean of Jeju National University’s Graduate School, the recognition of best-performing dissertation advisors has provided a platform for strengthened the university’s research competitiveness and research-centered culture. “Through the program, the university will continue to discover talented intellectuals,” she added.
