ROK Navy and Marine Corps to recruit Reserve Officers’ Training Corps for 2021
Jeju National University’s Reserve Forces Regiment will recruit new Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).
The application for the Navy ROTC will be accepted until April 30, while the recruitment of Marine Corps ROTC will be open from March 15 through April 16.
To meet the basic eligibility criteria for ROTC recruitment, applicants are required to be male or female Korean nationals aged between 20 and 27 and enrolled to Jeju National University as first- or second-year students. The JNU Reserve Forces Regiment will accept dozens of male applicants and up to nine female applicants.
Students who are successfully recruited will join the ROTC training in the third and fourth years of college and will be commissioned as naval ensigns upon graduation.
During the cadet years, the young officers will receive subsidies and scholarships granted by the Ministry of National Defense. Specialized training courses will also be available, including a visit to overseas countries and marine sports education.
The JNU ROTC earned the highest marks in the defense ministry’s ROTC Management Evaluation last year, topping the nation’s ROTC list for two consecutive years.
Applicants who need more information may contact the ROTC (064-755-6188) or the kiosk established at the Student Union Hall.
