On July 28, the JNU Institute of Convergence Science and Technology (JNU STS) conducted a special AI creative art convergence program in collaboration with the Brunei Hangeul School for local students, held at the Brunei Embassy (Amb. Kim Sung-eun).

The program aimed to provide Korean students abroad with an opportunity to enhance their creativity and innovative thinking through the integration of art and high technology. It explored the innovative intersection of AI and art education.

During the program, an AI artist introduced students to notable figures such as graffiti artist and film director Banksy and painter Jean-Michel Basquiat, under the theme "paradise," encouraging students to engage in creative art activities.
Additionally, the program featured traditional craft workshops, including the creation of cultural items such as the Baekje Geumdong Daehyang-ro, the Hahoe Tal, and traditional Norigae.

JNU STS also showcased its leading educational models and programs, and hosted a briefing session on the entrance examination for JNU’s College of Education for attending parents.

Nepio Co., Ltd. (CEO Sung Shin-woong), a leading provider of educational robots widely used in Korean elementary and middle schools, donated educational robots to the Brunei Hangeul School. W Productions, represented by Son Jae-min, Bae Ji-young, and Kim Gana, also contributed art teaching aids and stationery to support the students' artistic development.

Lim Hyun-jung, Senior Secretary for the Arts at JNU and the program host, stated, “Through AI creative art convergence classes, students approach art from a new perspective. It has been fascinating to witness their process of creating original work by focusing on creative activities with digital technology. This experience will serve as a solid foundation for their future growth.”

Prof. Park Nam-je, Vice President of JNU Graduate School of Education, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of the parents and remarked, "JNU is pleased to provide Korean students living abroad with the opportunity to explore various possibilities through convergence education that bridges art and science. AI classes offer a valuable chance to develop creativity and problem-solving skills. JNU will continue to support such innovative programs and provide future-oriented educational experiences for Korean students abroad."
